James Gleeson a local Labour activist has worked with the Gregson Green Community to approach the council for funding to completely refurbish the Community Centre in Gregson Lane. In addition, to the newly installed changing rooms South Ribble will also invest in a brand new Community Centre for the area. Jacqui Gibson, Chair of Trustees said “you have this goal that you never seem to be able to reach and with the cost of everything going up it was getting further and further away.” The Cabinet at South Ribble were impressed with the “valiant efforts” of the locals who had managed to fundraise over the last 10 years and are please to announce the support they have given. So, after such a long time and huge efforts by the community their dream will be realised. We are so pleased we could provide the funds, after all, it is your Council here to deliver for you all!
