Local Investment across South Ribble 2021-Our Communities

Upon taking control of the Council the Labour team made your community facilities and investment in them a priority. Over the course of the last 3 months two large investment and refurbishment programmes have been completed across South Ribble, and additionally development of Worden Hall is just about to begin.

Much Hoole

Executive Cabinet members as well as the Mayor, Cllr Jane Bell, visited and conducted the opening of Much Hoole Memorial Hall, The

Venue, in July watching the Mayor cut the ribbon. The local community and Trustees 20-year dream of a new village hall has now been realised with the financial support of South Ribble Borough Council.

The Chair of Trustees of Hoole Village Memorial, Howard Davidson said: “Through partnership with South Ribble Borough Council, Much Hoole Parish Council and Village Hall Trustees, we have achieved the impossible, we couldn’t have done it without the Council.”

Penwortham, Hurst Grange Coach House

In September 2021 residents of Penwortham saw the Mayor of South Ribble, Cllr Jane Bell open Hurst Grange Coach House in Penwortham.

This is another community asset which the Labour group at South Ribble have successfully supported and completed. Friends of Hurst Grange Park group and the associated Friends of Hurst Grange Park Coach HouseRestoration Project all attended the opening of the Coach House.

The Mayor said: ‘It is wonderful to see an important part of our local heritage so beautifully restored into a fabulous asset for the community. The transformation has been incredible, as I’m sure everyone who visits the park will agree!’

Friends of Hurst Grange Park Restoration Project secured a National Lottery Grant of £513,000 and South RibbleBorough Council who led the bid contributed an additional £253,000.
